PINE RIVER AREA
2010 FISHING REPORT

August 25, 2010
Reports are beginning to trickle in that the much anticipated fall walleye "bite" may be beginning in the Pine River lakes area! Walleyes are beginning to take nightcrawler and leechs presented on live bait rigs and the jig and minnow combination is also beginning to work. Activitiey still seems to be centered around late evening or after dark and early morning. As the water begins to cool to fall temperatures, look for walleyes to wake up from their mid-summer slumber. Great panfishing is being reported from almost all lakes with sunfish and crappie being taken at the deep edges of weedlines in ten to fifteen feet of water. Northern pike and muskie have also been active and that action, too, should improve as we move into the fall season. The really good fishing is still ahead!
The Pine River Lions Club hold their annual "Take A Kid Fishing Day" every June and all kids attending experience a exciting, fun filled day on the water!
