Pine River provides abundant recreational
opportunities. we are an outdoor-oriented community and find excellent fishing,
swimming, bike riding and camping experiences at our doorstep. You won't hear
many folks saying, "There just isn't anything to do around here." On
the contrary, you will find your time flying by as you partake in any or all of
our recreational assets. Pine River is the "Birthplace of the Paul
Bunyan Trail", being the first community to pass a resolution asking
for the abandoned Burlington Northern Railway Line to be converted to a recreation
Trail. The Paul Bunyan Trail now hosts thousands of bikers, roller bladers, snowmobilers
and hikers every year.
