Pine River rests on the shores of
Norway Brook which empties into the Pine River. It is a strong year-round business
community because of it's unique location. Five highways merge at the city making
it a regional service center. Tourism, logging, farming, ranching and other area
industries help stabilize the economy through the winter months. Pine River is
also the home of the Cass County Government Service Building and the Cass County
Extension Service.

Pine River city council has revolving loan fund in place for business development.
Applications and information on the revolving loan fund may be obtained by
contacting Pine River City Hall. The council has also established a tax increment
