RIVER AREA FISHING REPORT
August 27, 2008
Great
fall fishing is just around the corner in the Pine River area! Reports are already
coming in that walleyes, northerns and bass have begun to awake from their summer
slump and soon they'll be putting on the feed bag and that's good news for anglers!
Generally, fall walleyes are found deep during the day and move up shallow at
dark. The jig and minnow combination is deadly at this time of year along with
shallow running minnow-type baits. Look for northern pike and bass along remaining
weedlines through the fall. This is also the best time to hook a trophy muskie!
Look for them to be roaming shallow rock piles and thinning weedlines. Good luck!! The
Pine River Lions Club hold their annual "Take A Kid Fishing Day" every
June and all kids attending experience a exciting, fun filled day on the water!
