PINE RIVER AREA
2010 FISHING REPORT

July28, 2010
Summer fishing patterns are in place in the Pine River lakes area. Panfish are very active with many great reports on sunfish and crappie being received. Look for good size panfish to be hugging the deep edges of weedlines. Most panfish anglers are going "bobber-less" and using ultra-light gear. Largemouth bass and northern pike are remaining active and are being found on the deep water bars which harbor good weed growth. Walleyes have been inconsistent at best, but some are being taken on crankbaits trolled along drops early morning or late evening and at night. As the weather begins to cool in mid to late August, the walleye bite will improved with fall fishing right around the corner.
The Pine River Lions Club hold their annual "Take A Kid Fishing Day" every June and all kids attending experience a exciting, fun filled day on the water!
